tomo el fuego is a 32bit operating system with delulu aspirations.

we seek a new paradigm of human computer interaction; a truly cybernetic age without the nasty biological integrations. a psycho-linguistic medium for self expression, collaboration, and discovery. specifically emphasizing nahua and maya writing systems, those of our cousins, and inspirational conlangs like tokipona and Iţkuîl.

Practically, the project aims to bring concepts from scsh and scheme generally into plan9. Inferno's wm/wm is rough so there's a clear need for improvement UX-wise. charon is a surprisingly nice old-school web browser. limited, for sure, but something that could easily comfortably browse gem capsules and gopher holes. Many security upgrades are in order, thankfully libsec is copied from plan9 so we can copy from 9front. This work will bring tomo up to the minimum security requirements for browsing gemini.

We are doing a lot of groundwork at the moment, so there isn't much to show that is interesting to look at, but feel free to browse the forum if you're interested in the project. Check the outline links below for more information.

snapshots are published periodically. real stable versions of the base system are planned, but not likely in the near future. currently we are publishing only Linux-386 builds. we may eventually graduate to nightly builds.
